I'm prob just gonna play the 3DS version myself. I didn't like the visual style of the new remake and hearing that it cuts so much just adds another to the list of reasons to skip this remake for me.

Reading this review hurts. I don't like the idea of so much narrative content being cut :(

Game has permadeath if you die in battle too much but if you die you play your descendent and form a new party of your choice using recruits in your city or in other parts of the world. It has a Final Fantasy II like stat system where the more you use a particular weapon the stronger you get with it

Romancing Saga 2 recently got a solid remake and that game is really cool
You're a king and you can spend money to expand facilities in your city in between going out solving other places problems to get them to form an alliance.

I really don't vibe with most Falcom games and I'm not entirely sure why
I know I think Trails can be too wordy, and old Ys games I find boring.
The only Falcon game I really strongly like is Nayuta. To a lesser degree I can dig Ys IX and Tokyo Xanadu
