One of the major concerns from anti-strike/anti-union folk is actors losing their roles because of a project flipping from non-union to union. No examples given.
But actual replacements of working actors are dismissed as "because they deserved it".

I swear people have lost so much of their empathy for others. It’s disgusting watching ppl go “oh, the striking workers deserve all the hate and to be recasted.” They’re fighting for their careers and their futures.

So say a Genshin actor suddenly hits Must Join status. It doesn't mean they HAVE to join, and it doesn't mean that they have to be recast. It just means that if a NEW U project comes to them and they want to work on it, they'll need to cash in those points by "leveling up" to some type of U status.

The Hoyo fandom was actually very supportive of the strike when it didn't require them to think critically about the developer's actions.
For several months you'd see posts saying "Support the VAs! Fuck Formosa!" because they all mistakenly thought it was the recording studio's fault.
