Technology has been eroding our privacy faster than our legislation/ regulation has been able to respond, but now we're at the point when our thoughts and feelings may soon not be private. We must draw the line.

Quick analysis of Bezos's Prometheus startup, based on what scant knowledge we have:

Seems like Prometheus and Periodic Labs are betting that RL+real-world = AI that can learn from reality rather than just optimizing in simulation

MuZero for reality, you might say.

Nice charts from @mims.bsky.social on AI build-out. He quotes JPM that every iphone owner globally needs to pay $35 a month to generate enough $ to justify capex. Seems to me that equates to ~$9 a month for every smartphone owner. Still punchy, but I can imagine that.

It’s actually WILD that the Vice President made this statement while scientists from the EPA, FEMA, and now the NIH are on administrative leave for signing declarations of dissent against new Trump policies at their agency.

In a perfect world, scientists could focus on science, and not have to worry about politics, much less get involved in it. Alas: we do not live in that world.

We've seen what government run by politicians is like. Maybe it's time to see what a government run by scientists would be like.
