Young patient with acute kidney injury and the biopsy findings below. Recently saw othpthamology for eye redness, pain. Glucosuria is noted. Urine beta microglobulin is elevated. Differential diagnosis? #renalpath #nephrology #pathsky #nephsky

Such an outstanding thread demystifying "drink 8 glasses of water a day" recommendation! In my personal experience, whenever I tell people that the majority of people need to drink only when they are thirsty they look at me like I am coming from a different planet!
"Drink more water!" It's the easiest health advice around. Tired? Headache? Trying to be like Tom Brady? Just drink more water. But as a nephrologist, I get asked all the time: How much is the right amount? And the truth is... we don't really know. 🧵

Makes me happy when the nephrologist nails the biopsy diagnosis in their provided clinical note. Older pt with progressive CKD with minimal proteinuria, unremarkable work up. Concerned for LECT2 amyloidosis. Just have H&E this morning; but looks like they nailed it. #renalpath #pathtsky #nephrology
