I just said-- "Hey maybe Obama isn't the one to deliver a feel-good inspirational speech about ICE because"

The crashout is telling--- about the character of America, and how we treat the "other", regardless of party.
Huh. I’ve seen journalists (@karenattiah.bsky.social in particular) pointing out Obama’s immigration policies were draconian, and online lefties attacking that. I don’t consider Attiah “the online left.” Nor were her facts attacks — they are public record. Did I miss an episode of BlueSky?

Medicaid is the primary funder of residency programs training the new generation of doctors, which is necessary as we are in a NATIONAL SHORTAGE of physicians and nurses.

Medicaid funds rural hospitals & ERs (hospitals are nonprofits) which WILL CLOSE without these funds.

The “covid is only a threat to the vulnerable” narrative primed the pump for the eugenics movement we’re seeing now.

It conditioned people to see the disabled & vulnerable as acceptable losses. People who were probably going to “die anyways”.

It paved the way for fascism.

Rugged individualism and “you do you” mentality are accelerating our decline.

Covid is a perfect example. The virus is airborne. Vulnerable people can’t choose not to breathe air.

We all share the air & if we cared about the quality of that air? We could beat the virus.

I really don’t understand why so many people are excited to die from Covid or live with long covid or watch their kids get it and see their lives collapse. Or even just get infected with every wave or two. I do not understand why that sounds good to anyone.
