This should surprise exactly no one. She did the same thing at her fake “university”. Why bother with the truth?
“I’ve been hearing that standards will be eliminated or severely cut back. Bari has told people that she wants to get rid of standards and is shocked that they have so much power. She also asked openly, ‘What’s the point of standards?’” one CBS source said.

Well, now that trump and the republicans own the looming healthcare disaster, I’m excited to see what their “concept of a plan” is. Johnson and trump both have said that there is a plan in the works, and they’ve had a long time to come up with something, I’m sure it’s gonna be great, right?

But enough about trump…

That sucks? Sure fucking does. But that's democracy. That's quite literally what the American people voted for. And the only way out of it is the worst case of buyer's remorse you've ever seen, and blue waves in 2026 and 2028 that make 2018 look like a ripple.

There is no universe in which Senate Republicans vote to extend ACA subsidies.

It. Will. Not. Happen.

All Senate Democrats can do is make it excruciatingly clear to the American people that this is the logical consequence of giving Republicans complete control of the government.
The Senate has rejected a plan from Sen. Tammy Baldwin D-WI to extend the expiring Obamacare health insurance subsidies for 1 year. Party line vote.

I love how after the "correction" to 135 million, it means a range of ~350lbs-0.35lbs. Cool.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

Hmmmm. I wonder how the Roberts court will rule on an elections case 🤔
BREAKING: #SCOTUS will decide an issue near and dear to President Trump: whether federal law allows states to tally ballots in federal elections after Election Day. 5th Circuit ruled it does.

apparently the deal being pushed through the senate at this moment contains $200 million in new funding for security and protection for Congress, but not a fucking dime to extend ACA subsidies.

These two things feel related to one another.

Government is shut down. Chaos in airports. 42 million going hungry. 24 million face skyrocketing healthcare costs. Economy in turmoil. And the president of the United States is in the Fox broadcast booth calling plays for a football game.

in every other shutdown, the administration portrays itself as working night and day to resolve things and minimize pain for average Americans.

This is the first time an administration has done the exact opposite. No effort to compromise, just trying to maximize suffering for as many as possible.

So it’s not enough for trump to keep SNAP benefits from going out, now they’re trying to take back money that has already been sent to people.

What the fuck is wrong with these people!?!?

LOL. So after 10 years, we finally get to see his “concept of a plan” on how to replace Obamacare….which is no health insurance at all.
Trump: "I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE."

so many rich and powerful men are obsessed with getting love and attention, but can’t go about it in a normal way
I know people think Musk only bought Twitter to help the rise of fascism.

While that’s important, I still think it’s secondary to his primary goal, which was to own the place where his fans praise him.

With AI, Musk’s use of the platform for love and validation is only getting more transparent.

Remember, historically judges will almost always take gov't claims at face value. It's an astounding fact that judges are now increasingly realizing that this administration just flat out lies to them constantly. And it's good to see them calling it out (in this case with a Trump-appointed judge).
A long and comprehensive opinion, but this jumped out at me: The judge accused the Federal Protective Service—which was called in to suppress the protests—of lying under oath to slander the regular Portland police.😬

DOJ recently admitted that other FPS claims in this case were objectively false.

Yes, some people's legacies are complicated. For example, Watson. After all, though he was racist, don't forget his other traits. For example, he was also sexist. And also anti-semitic. And a data / idea thief. So let's not forget all the different facets.
