US president claims broadcaster has ‘defrauded the public’ and reiterates his threat of launching a $1bn legal action Liberal Democrat deputy leader Daisy Cooper said the crisis at the BBC has provided an “opportunity” to “take away all the people who were political appointees”. According to the PA news agency, Cooper told BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme: We Liberal Democrats don’t think that there should be any political appointees and we would like to see legislation to bring back the independent appointments process for the BBC board. I do think that this crisis in the BBC provides an opportunity for us to clear up the BBC and to make sure we can safeguard its independence for future. When you look at independent editorial decisions that have been made on particular stories, there’s no doubt in my mind that the BBC has, on a number of occasions, been pretty sloppy, and it’s been very slow at correcting them. I think I have an obligation to do it, you can’t allow people to do that. I guess I have to. They defrauded the public and they’ve admitted it. This is within one of our great allies, supposedly our great ally [the UK]. We’re going to walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be there with you, and we fight. We fight like hell. Continue reading...

Farage is a GB news shareholder and is paid through a private company for his appearances on the channel.
So, here he is shit-stirring with Trump over the BBC and grifting his nasty little arse off…
There is really nothing of ours he won’t ruin to grab for power and wealth for himself.

I hear Trump doesn't like TV editing which makes him say things he didn't. So here's 100 lies he did tell, on camera; debunked.

This is so right. The traitor Johnson did so much to unbalance the BBC and there is a need for a review of journalistic practice at BBC news and current affairs.
Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

The BBC is ours. It's ours to love. Ours to criticise. Ours to shout at when we feel in the mood.

And if Farage thinks that the way to win favour with voters is to stand around cheering as Trump takes down the BBC for $1 billion of personal enrichment then he's a bigger fool than anyone thought.

The first thing Yaxley-Lennon did on leaving court was to thank Elon Musk for funding his legal costs.

That's Elon Musk who has repeatedly called for civil war in the UK.

As of typing this - all of the major politicians and platforms maintain a presence on X and it is time for them all to leave.

It's very brief and you could miss it after 1.5 hours (maybe Alastair and Rory did miss it), but at 1:30:00, Michael Gove admits that he and Vote Leave did not spell out the trade-offs involved in leaving the EU.

You don't say.

Notable in today's YouGov that the centre/left bloc - Lab/Green/LD/SNP are on 54%. With Reform/Tories on 43%. That's the biggest differential in a long time.

I think useful to track blocs given instability between parties at the moment.

Given the party's refusal to act on Pochin's brazen racism, it should be as socially unacceptable to vote for Reform as it was in the early 2000s to vote for the BNP.

And we should be prepared to say this to people's faces.
