Doug Ford *falsely claiming* he has the power to audit his enemies when he doesn’t actually have that power is still a news story

But it’s kind of a different story than one uncritically accepting the premise that the Premier of Ontario can order the federal government to audit his enemies

Here’s one thing Mark Carney could do that would improve the welfare of more Canadians than any pipeline or mine
Canada spends about $10 billion more on medicines each year than countries with universal pharmacare because our system doesn't provide access to medications through government-issued health cards.

No more feminist foreign policy, Carney says

Meanwhile, in that same press conference, Carney moved away from characterizing Canada’s foreign policy as feminist and called gender quality a meme “aspect” of our foreign policy.

Carney’s words prompted this response from the former secretary general of Amnesty International Canada:

Sucks that you can’t critique a pattern of behaviour from Carney, which has come up several times and been highlighted by Chantal Hébert and others, without a bunch of partisans ripping your head off!!!!!!!!!

Stinky.
Before I even clicked the video to see the context in which Carney responded “who cares” to a reporter asking when he last spoke with Trump, I knew it would a female reporter who asked the question.

Why? Because Carney is consistently more short with and rude to female reporters.

Sure enough:

That would be a very welcome message to Canadians whose primary "vote Carney because he's the best anti-Trump" instinct was in response to the "Never 51st" idea, largely due to our categorically different approach to caring for one another.

We don't just have a trade crisis. We have a care crisis.

Carney's first federal budget delivered half a "Canada Strong" loaf to Canadians.
A pro-[private]investment budget.
We need that.
We also need a pro-[public]investment budget. One that invests publicly in more than just the trade-exposed sectors.
