Amazing to watch the England football team win another major tournament! I’m in central London until Tuesday. Tempted to go to the victory parade!

Anyone spouting the Broken Britain nonsense should look at the #Lionesses. Articulate, relaxed about sexuality, anti racist, generous in victory and defeat.
The Mail will disagree but they're a microcosm of this country.

Zelensky is a wartime leader watching his people suffer and die under Russian attacks every day. To be lectured and lied to by Trump and Vance, as they defend the war criminal dictator committing these atrocities, is unimaginable agony. An everlasting shame for America.
Trump has not uttered a critical word about Putin but he and his VP publicly belittled the leader of the nation Putin invaded.

A gay guy, a Black man, and a woman walk into a flight deck— that’s not the beginning of a joke, but just a regular day at work! There was so much DEI on this plane that we could hardly get in the air. Luckily my limp wrists were able to wrestle the heavy jet back to the ground 💅🏼

Following on from @whatsfsaid.bsky.social post about teachers who read. He’s a small selection of my own YA fiction. I have always loaned my own, personal copies to my students. Once by Morris Gleitzman has been replaced 3 times. I reckon I’ve loaned it to over 100 students now.

Thank you Mrs Bisby from Lympne Primary for reading us Matilda in 1990 (I later used this in my dissertation). And Mr Johnson our headteacher for his enthusiastic reading of Hairy McLairy when I was 5. I still remember those reading sessions now and I’m 43!
The books we love when we're young change our lives forever, and so do the people who help us find those books. So I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the amazing teachers, librarians, booksellers & everyone else out there who's working so hard to help kids find books to love! #literacy #books

You’re all about to be gaslit about that Nazi salute and I’m begging you to spend no time on it. You know what you saw.

Don’t be glum about the long, cold winter. Look around: the trees are busy, not sleeping. When the temperature permits, cells in this bud are dividing, maturing into flowers, leaves, stems. The cambium, maker of all the trees, is preparing for its spring festivities. Be like a tree: keep growing.

Wish I slept like this at home. No alarm, nothing to get up for. I average 7hr13mins a night at home. I’ve had a stressful few weeks (moved house) so this was much needed.

Finished book 35 of 2024 with hours to spare! This book was brilliant. I learnt so much, and it made me so angry. Every woman should read this, everyone with a daughter should make sure their daughters know what happened so they could vote. #HistoryTeacher #History #Suffragette

My 2024 reads (so far). I’ve managed 34 books. Some of these were audiobooks. A nice mix of autobiography, crime, thriller, romantic fiction, comedy, fiction.

I’m not great with reading non fiction books (a prefer an audiobook for NF) but I’m already loving this! #Suffragettes #Feminism #Reading

At the ripe old age of 43 (am I 43? I was born in 1981. Yes, yes I am) I put my big girl pants on and drove a left hand drive car today, on the wrong side of the road! 😱 pulling up at the kerb was the hardest part.
