Coaxing heavy metal into the sky, then wrasslin’ and wranglin’ it back to the ground again. Cardigan aficionado. Queer with a homosexual sensibility. Seattle living and world gallivanting. I pretend to write. 🌈

Tis the season: My winter solstice greeting is rolling up, physically, in some mailboxes— but here I present it to you digitally!

Winter Solstice Greeting 2025
The physical mail is starting to arrive in your boxes, so here is the digital version— as promised (a little late!) Winter Solstice – 2025 As I sit down to write this greeting, I went back to read w...

Classic Anchorage on Christmas

Our flight got pushed back a day, so I emailed ops to update our hotel reservations. “I don’t want a ‘no room at the inn’ situation on December 25th.” Sometimes I even annoy myself.

Winter solstice is my favorite holiday, because it teaches us that amidst the fruitful darkness, light emerges. I was lucky to spend it with my favorite cunty cousins, one all the way from Sweden. Blessed solstice to you all! ✨

What a waste of my time— I have something on my foot that needs attention. I got a referral to a podiatrist (am I old?) and scheduled an appointment. They asked for my insurance at that time, but only just told me, a day before, that they don’t accept it. I hate healthcare in America.

I don’t often (if ever) pass through PHX, but I remember this great spot in The Centurion Lounge where you can sit and plane spot.

Fine. I’ll admit it. I flew Economy to Santa Fe (on a CRJ 🤢) and it wasn’t that bad. I can be common!

JoJo wants to know why you scrolled past this and didn't respond with a picture of your dog.

Snuck down to Santa Fe for some sunshine, soaking, and weird dog cuddles. (Seriously, why are they so bizarre?)

I’m going to be real. Years ago, on a beautiful night leaving New York, I was a copilot silently admiring the view. A caustic check airman flipped on the dome light and said, “You’ll get to a point in your career when you don’t even want to see the stars.” I’ve never reached it.

Reason 972,645 why I love living in Seattle: a Costco run can turn into a plane spotting event— sorry to the people waiting for my Princess Parking spot, and don’t mind my commentary. It was sporty today!

ANC was landing 33, instructed to follow a 777 on a downwind. Purple crew behind us got the same. They piped up and said “it’s been a long night, we need a vector to final.” I don’t blame them! Use your resources, and ask for what you need. (All this travel to operate one leg. She’s tired, too!)

Tonight was a lovely evening at the WAC’s 95th Jubilee— I met a local daytime talk show host, whom I watch regularly. And if I weren’t I pilot? I’d be after her job. She was so lovely! Now, same evening, off to China to bring a plane back. Turned left, naturally. 💅🏼

The influx of cute cards is starting— and I love it. Last year I sent out a few hard copies of my own message. If you want a holiday greeting from me, fill this out and I'll try to accommodate!

Winter Solstice Greeting 2025
I'm not big on that other holiday, as I'm not a believer. But! I still love the season and celebrate the Winter Solstice. From my desk to your USPS mailbox! If you would like to receive my Winter Sols...

Starting off the Washington Athletic Club’s 95th Jubilee celebration in my natural habitat— a business class pod with some bubbles! And it was 20 minutes from plane to train. What? I’m a woman of the people, too. It’s called duality. And efficiency. 🍾🥂

Back at it, getting my noodle fix in China.

Back in the day, my first job was on a Cessna Caravan— this is exactly what it looked like with that dumb little hot plate on the windshield, hand flying to minimums in O’Hare during a winter storm.

I’m not big on holidays. Early on in my career, I made peace with perhaps not having the day off— the time you make for loved ones, regardless of the date, is far more important. Today I’m thankful for my weird internet friends who keep me company all across the globe. 💜 (I’m on call in ANC today!)

Yeeee haw! Anchorage just had a decent jolt— my flight or fight response was…I’m staying in this bed.

I'm sure theft plays a role in this, but I simply don't care that retailers lose money by making their shopping experience miserable. I left the store tonight because 90% of the items I needed were locked up or out of stock.

The urge to delete all social media and just rot into the ether. Unfortunately, my mouth is too big, and I’m too cute.
November 25, 2025 at 9:36 PM
I’ve been mulling about how to convey this in a non-pitiful way. But my life is, for the most part, fruitful and fulfilling. I own my place, have an interesting career, and a busy social calendar. However, I still crave that intimate, romantic companionship.

As a passenger, I love a solid nine hour flight. Wine and dine me over an emotional movie, get a lil tipsy and feel the feels, then nap it off. Wake up, feed me again, write in my journal, and boom. It’s time to land. Even better if this is the view:

Olive you, I really do. 💜🤌🏼🇮🇹

Because I’m flying into YVR to get home, I have a question for my Canadian friends: if I have 3L of olive oil, do I need to declare it at customs?
