Just the last few seconds of the crowd singing the theme from Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood together. It was a beautiful experience!

As a Pittsburgher raised with a disdain for all things Philly-related I am intrigued by this theory. I catch myself saying “Go Birds” all the time now. I always thought it was IASIP but maybe it is just being too online!
I have a theory - much like how if you live in New York City for long enough you become culturally Jewish in a way, if you hang out online for too long you end up culturally Philadelphian

Happy to report that Gordie has finally calmed down enough that he can coexist with his uncle Misha (my mom’s cat). It only took 6 years of sporadic visits!

It was Gordie’s 6th birthday today! No internet (bad storms yesterday) meant there was no way to work and all day we focused on this guy! Walked with his buddies Big Phil and Leonard, played with new toys, went to the park, and finally ice cream at Graeter’s.

The people who claim they are being discriminated against because they are so very Christian are doing this
At least 140,000 children and 67,000
adults have died as a result of Musk, the orange, and Rubio terminating USAID support to healthcare and food aid. The lag effects of HIV/AIDs, TB and malnutrition will soon start increasing the toll more rapidly.
Never forget that the richest man in the world chose to take food from the mouths of the world’s poorest children.

Burn in hell.

Personally, I think it should be front page news for at least a month if a sitting US President is using falsified evidence to try and deny due process to a man who has committed no crime, but that’s just me

If we had a functioning judicial system Trump and his lackeys would be going to prison. If we had a functioning congress, he would be impeached and removed. Unfortunately we have neither.
This is some sick shit

An astronomy professor colleague of mine once relayed trying to explain to his students why it was important that they actually write their class reports themselves. “The point is not to teach ME about neutron stars,” he said.
Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

“When you eliminate DEI, when you roll back trans care, when you tell people they’re only where they are because of programs, not their worth, that’s an attack on civil rights. And I won’t stand for it...It’s happening right here, in cities like Pittsburgh....it should be about resistance."

YES
Like I told @advocate.com, the real fight against Trump’s authoritarian takeover isn’t happening in Washington. It’s happening in cities like Pittsburgh.

Our future depends on Mayors rising up and fighting back.

I’m leveraging every tool to protect against trauma and harm.
Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey ‘has a recipe’ for countering MAGA, trans hate, and billionaire bullies
The city’s mayor, who is up for reelection, says it’s important for leaders to "feel the pain" of those being affected by Trump’s agenda, including in the LGBTQ+ community.

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

Bullying normal people who have never said a word to you just because they use preferred pronouns is low.
There’s no other way to say it: you are a bully.
Leave people alone and let them be themselves. They aren’t bothering you. They just exist—happily, until you came along

What we're seeing at #handsoff protests nationwide today and what we saw at the ballot box on Tuesday are not unrelated. The public is furious. It will not be silenced. And those who side with Trump and Musk—or refuse to fight back—will be swept out of office.
