Found most frequently in book stores and libraries. When not haunting the stacks, my favorite place is with family, friends and cats. I post little but am grateful to listen and learn from others.

AOC: I think there's two things that are happening at once: One, there absolutely is an unprecedented abuse of power, destruction of norms, erosion of our government and our democracy in order to prop up an authoritarian style of governance

However, they are weaker than they look…

Andry José Hernández Romero, I remember you, even if I do not know how to articulate my horror, rage, & sorrow at your treatment by my government.

No one has heard from you in 59 days.

As vigil, I’m posting a photo of you every day until you are returned from El Salvador.

now, giving the library an amount of money unusual for a local library would be a constructive response!

It appears they have a friends of the library nonprofit with a donate button here, though that would be a non directed donation not necessarily used to replace specific books: www.charitynavigator.org/ein/341373857

This! If you can switch from Whole Foods to a different grocery store and buy your books from bookshop.org instead of Amazon, that’s still a big step even if you feel tied to Amazon for other items. If everyone divested 30% that’s more than if a few people divest 100%.
When it comes to boycotting, just a thought. It’s okay if you can’t quit a company cold turkey. In Master Gardeners, when we encourage people to switch to native plants, the goal is 70% native, not 100%. If you were shopping at a store 80% of the time and cut it back to 60%, that 20% still hurts.

Trump should obviously be impeached. Either he has lost control, or he is using his power to do obviously illegal things.

If you want to give your fave authors a gift this holiday season that won't cost <you> anything, one amazing thing you could do is post a wee review for readers saying what you liked about the book.

bonus: cross-post to multiple sites! Reviews help with visibility! 👀

Also: If you don't have money to buy my (or anyone's) books, and you live in the anglosphere, before you pirate them, try to get them from your local library instead. They have it or can get it, they pay for the books, and in many places writers get paid for their books being lent. Everyone wins!
