While I zipped out to the bank, Conservative Talk Radio was, based on the success of the Venezuela raid, endorsing invading Cuba and Greenland.

*deep breath*

Okay. I am cranky on a lot of levels today, so.

But I got a comment on another platform that said, "you are going to save us in the future. Libraries and librarians are the backbone of society."

Let me tell you why I hated this seemingly innocuous comment.

This is not original to me, but I can't find the original creators. If anyone knows, please comment with it.

The Parental Entitlement Industrial Complex is one of the most powerful political forces of the modern world and has been for a long time.
Everything, from fearmongering about trans kids to internet censorship to "anti-wokeness" is driven by people who demand ownership over their children.

Just seen the script for Disney’s Andor remaster:

Cassian gazes up at the enormous face of Palpatine. Two gin-scented tears trickle down the sides of his nose. But it’s all right, everything is all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved the Galactic Empire.

All the early reporting I saw about the murder of Jonathan Joss (an actor) implied it was an argument with a neighbor. I mean, it was, in the same way that the explosion of Krakatoa was "a bit of noise." More information:

Its a widespread problem and I'm sure the rest of librarian bluesky has already posted about it, but meh. Just so you're aware: www.denverpost.com/2025/05/25/d...
Rising popularity, cost of e-books forces some Colorado libraries to limit access
The boom in e-book popularity is accompanied by a rise in cost, forcing some Colorado libraries to limit who can access their highly sought-after digital collections.

You don't dehumanize someone because you think that they are less than human. You do it to convince yourself you can treat them inhumanely.

The library will come out and say it: We are NOT Satanists.

The weak ass "dark lord" couldn't handle our s**t. If there's a hell, it's this pit of despair, computers, and books we call a library.

Call down the thunder by coming for us, motherf**kers. Miss Rachel ain't got s**t on us.

Please highlight this story.

ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

I dunno if this would be legal, but legality is almost gone anyway. The Courts should charge Donald Trump's personal accounts $10k a day per person until we get people wrongfully detained to El Salvador back. Take it right out of his accounts. I bet he'd find a way to get them back.

Autism didn’t make them do it. Mental illness didn’t, either. This personal piece from The Big Picture cuts through the excuses and names the real issue: some people are just hateful, and we need to stop giving them cover.
Neither Neurodivergence Nor Mental Illness Made Them Bigots—They're Just Awful People
It's hard to admit your heroes are jerks, but the mentally ill and neurodivergent shouldn't be collateral damage.
