Grizzlies dominated on the boards, but Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey combined to shoot 0-9 with 3 turnovers in the fourth. Landale was also a mess beyond rebounding. Needed much better frontcourt player in this matchup.

Maybe Tuomas Iisalo wasn't so crazy in moving the Grizzlies towards more hockey-style shifts. Might be the only way for players to withstand today's pace and movement.

Thought Iisalo leaving Jaren in after he picked up his (really bad) 5th foul with 9:50 left was really good bc Steph was out. GSW didn’t have anyone who could pressure Jaren into his 6th. Iisalo subbed Jaren out at 7:58 the second Steph came back in. Really sharp.

On deadline day some on-court notes: Even with Bane out, last night was close a Grizzlies ideal: Balance that has re-engaged Ja in the offense with plenty of Jaren touches. Aggressive Edey. Vince back in chaos agent mold. A highly concentrated dose of Clarke. GG with scoring punch off the bench.

They just flashed the Christmas game schedule during Wolves-Knicks, and I don't personally care about those games, but no Thunder/Cavs/Grizzlies/Bucks/Rockets isn't a very good reflection of what's actually interesting/meaningful in the NBA this season.

Morning after, this is why MEM lost:
1). DAL played their guys (Luka 40 mins, Kyrie 35), MEM didn't.
2). MEM dumb fouls - Smart and Bane were the chief offenders.
3). MEM offense stopped moving in 4th
4). Smart doing all the little things.
