Lowkey tearing my hair out to get my very first fursuit partial finished for delivery on saturday.
This is why I dont work to deadlines 😭😭 especially when i'm learning a new craft!!! Why do I do this to myself!!!!!

Had a dream I had a horse, and was washing him in a huge bath tub, he was black and white with long curly hair and feathered hooves. He gently stepped backwards out the tub, ran off and rolled in sand, then galloped off to run with his other horse mates. His name was Dolby.

I only spent a week in New York 10+ years ago, but I remember it fondly & remember the people who welcomed me into their fold after watching Sleep No More, then walked me back to my hotel that night ❤️ good people

I only ever got to this point because initially, I was living with my parents 4 cheap after uni.
Then, got lucky with a YouTube video blowing up.
Then, got lucky and found a part time job thats wfh.
I split all current expenses w/my partner.
But compared to my non-artist peers, I earn *very* little.

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.

When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"

The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on
