I needed a job while going to college and the PD was hiring civilian Service Officers; and then, well... inertia.

After, what does ex-LE do? Corporate security.

After 11 years of THAT, veer hard into ANYTHING other than that

Since Kerbal Space Program 2 went tits up, some other developers are building a new engine and new game... but this time, instead of Kerbals, they use cute kittens.

NOOOOOO now I'm gonna feel bad when my shoddy spaceship blows up and kills them!

Border Patrol is monitoring US drivers and detaining those with 'suspicious' travel patterns
The U.S. Border Patrol is monitoring millions of American drivers nationwide in a secretive program to identify and detain people whose travel patterns it deems suspicious.

Breathalyzers, interestingly were made by the tear gas division of Smith and Wesson, the gun company
This week is Road Safety Week & a chance to talk about Barbara Castle!

Barbara was Transport Minister for three years yet she was able to introduce the Breathalyzer, a proper integrated transport strategy & more!

This was done despite fierce opposition.

We all knew this would happen; that's why they were stalling.

But I'm betting they're really bad at covering their tracks; and that there's folks that have squirreled away unredacted copies.

But, of course, they've clouded the waters.

Of course, us instructors running the class would use our downtime to get ridiculous... one of the scenarios was a "it's better to retreat and wait for reinforcement" type of thing where you respond to the driveway of a house about a complaint and the subject is verbally combative... then-1/4
First agency we'd rent a machine for a couple of weeks for shoot/no shoot training; I think it was a FATS I, because the scenarios were on laserdiscs. Rented a more modern one at BCSO that included the shoot-back paintball gun (and believe me, us instructors were poised over that joystick-

What’s the criminal record of your agents, Mr. Bovino?
FOX: Here's a viral video of landscapers who were being addressed by a CBP agent. What do you say to people who say that falls outside the purview of getting criminals out?

GREG BOVINO: Martha, do we know the criminal records of those so-called landscapers?

Ummm… is it weird to have a fetish for a weapons system you were once good at? Asking for a friend
I only fired the UMP once; but at the time I was in it was all MP5.40 for the first agency; 9mm for the 2nd.

I was *surgical* with the .40 MP5; would kill to have another one with the navy trigger group. *wavy lines* memorieeees

Awright glubdammit, I'm gonna get into this. It's as meaningless as the "9mm vs 45" discourse; but I'm tired of the .40S&W getting poo-poo'd as useless. 9mm was poo-poo'd at the time it came out as well.

So much of the debate comes down to "perceived recoil"; and my answer to that is "skill issue"
I mean; it's a cool round, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one... I like obscure rounds (like the .338 Win Mag or... as some internet wags would like to say, the .40 Short and Weak); but that's just probably because I own one

I do so love Ian. No bias, just "hey, look at this cool weapons system!" vibe that I used to vibe with. Shot many a round through Glocks and MP5s; and knew the reasons the 5.7 was designed, but had never heard of this round.

There were 3 police agencies that worked UGA home games... UGAPD (the bulk inside the stadium and at the gates; the rest trying swim upstream outside the stadium), ACCPD (they weren't in the stadium, but they had enough to do directing traffic and dealing with downtown), and Ga State Patrol. 1/
Even GSP (it seems like *every* Trooper in the state shows up for game day) knows better than to do that shit (in view of everyone)
