It appears that the Senate agreed to reopen the government based on promises that the GOP can renege on, or let the House refuse to allow a vote on.
Sad state of affairs.

Tim Kaine. Worthless.

Selling out the needy of the nation so that people in Virginia can work.

Angus King. Fucking worthless.

Same
I voted for these people to get affordable healthcare. I voted so that if they needed help to afford food it was there. I voted so that good jobs in infrastructure and alternative energy helped them cut their bills and build careers.

This causes me pain.
Trump followers will suffer the most. Ironic tragedy.

I am going to insulate my garage. I think I'm gonna lay down those foam tiles as well. The cold makes me fragile and whiny.

Whether you touched the face of god or just spent time with the stars, there are some experiences so transformative that it becomes impossible to even pretend Schumer has a spine.

Admittedly this was a stunt but with the best intentions. I didn't follow closely but I believe the outcome was that all the churches told her to pound sand but one mosque was eager to help her.

I don't care what words he types. All Senate Dems are complicit in this. They gamed the system and figured out which senators were the most resilient and urged them to fall in line with this bullshit CR. You can't convince me otherwise.
In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

"join us to pass the 2 month CR and we promise to possibly discuss the ACA subsidies with you at a date to be determined"

So they "promised" to do their job. Like their entire reason for being. They're supposed to do politics (give and take deliberations). It's in the job description.

This is pretty fucking righteous! I didn't watch the game exactly because of this. The nerve this motherfucker has coming to a Commanders game where so many people in the stands probably aren't working right now, because of him.

New rule. If you're some stranger who wants to send me a message on here, the only questions you can ask are what is my favorite dinosaur, what is the most adorable predator, what is my favorite 70s era station wagon, and who is my favorite non-avenger, non-super friends superhero.

None others.

"Trump said he’d leave abortion care up to the states. Well, this latest scheme makes it crystal clear: A de facto nationwide abortion ban has been his plan all along," said Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden.

This is so good! America is supposed to be legislated for the greater good. That doesn't mean we're supposed to opt for policies that severely disadvantage (even kill) a major part of the population, regardless of what issue is being talked about.

Holy shit this cuts deep! I am honest to goodness not a smart person but I do think a lot. It drives me fucking nuts. Just to be aware and to care. I've never been suicidal but I can't tell you how many thousands or millions of times I've wished I didn't have to be here.
