I had the direct connect modem in ~83/84... Unfortunately, all of the phone lines in our house were wired direct to the wall, and there was no phone in the room where I hat my CoCo. So I went to Radio Shack for phone wire and a wall-plate jack dived into the attic to run a line from the closest-

You can understand how this was a major upgrade of our current bomb truck; a cargo trailer whose interior we built out ourselves out of plywood and 2x4's. It this photo, it was towed by an Expedition... 3/5

I helped draw up the grant proposal, but went to another agency before it was delivered... always a bride's maid, never a bride. 2/5
