TL;DR: the Enterococci are really good at evolving resistance to antibiotics in new and creative ways.

The fight against AMR will not be won in laboratories alone, but in our shared habits of everyday life. We need infection prevention, vaccination, hand hygiene, and a global culture that values responsibility over convenience and stewardship over complacency.

Across Southeast Asia most newborn infections are now caused #AMR bugs, making standard treatments for neonatal sepsis ineffective. Without updated, locally informed treatment guidelines and new antibiotic development, infant mortality rates will rise.

An end to the occupation remains the only path to alleviating the profound hardship faced by Palestinians:

Strengthening antibiotic use in Timor-Leste through therapeutic drug monitoring
CAMO-Net Timor-Leste has launched the first phase of a project to introduce Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) for key antibiotics. The initiative is being delivered by the Menzies School of Health Research in partnership with Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ). This important milestone marks a step forward in supporting the responsible use of antibiotics and strengthening antimicrobial stewardship across the country. The initiative is being delivered in close collaboration with five referral hospitals - including Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares (HNGV), HOREX Baucau, RAEOA Referral Hospital, and referral hospitals in Maubisse, Maliana and Suai.

Considering the coverage of the system, the representativeness across northern Australia is good 👍

They departed Texas 5 days ago.

What a colossal waste of time, money & military resources. All for a President who has shown zero respect for service personnel.
