It absolutely is! And not to be too woke on main, but it comes from the fact that a lot of people hate or are embarrassed by their child selves, depending on how they were treated as a child, and are loathe to give that version of themselves any credit for anything positive they know or have become.

Been a weird year to celebrate an anniversary, tho less weird than our 25th in 2020, but I think three decades of hub city--press, bookshop, lit org--is worth celebrating. If a sustainable and vital literary organization can continue to exist in dark red SC, books can truly come from everywhere.
