Monte loves having his butt scratched, and has started throwing his ass towards people and looking back at them with an expression of crazed insistence.

it is very funny that machiavelli and sun tzu are famous because they wrote books on the immortal problem of fail son nepo babies being incompetent and every fail son nepo baby has held their works up as tomes of great genius.

it's like a tech bro bragging about having a copy of green eggs and ham.

I owe an apology to all James Bond movies. I mocked them for having completely unrealistic, cartoonish villains that simply weren't believable.

2025 has made it impossible to levy that criticism anymore.

Reading about history helps me focus.

How can you read about Frederick Douglass escaping slavery, MLK Jr sitting in jail, or John Lewis bleeding on a bridge and not have you hope?

Suffering is eternal, but so is the fight.

I blame dystopian fiction for the expectations I am seeing. Ironically, those books largely come after 50 years (or more) for a reason. You think the revolution is immediate because that's when you're brought into the story. But if the fall took decades, the revolution also took decades.
