One of the things I love about my boyfriend is that if I hear one of the cats sneeze in another room with him I always hear him quietly say "bless you" a moment later.

Living in the NC Triangle makes things like coming across Sir Walter Raleigh's name in Candide extremely jarring. Was not expecting that guy in a French satire but O.K. #reading

listen: my most-used platform is Tumblr. I crowblog. If it's shiny*, I interact with it.

*Interesting to me
i think something missing in all the "liberals need to come back to twitter. actually everyone needs to transition to video content" discourse is that some people aren't logging on to social media to change hearts and minds. some of us are just talking shit

My grandmother is an artist. She's always painting something, or quilling, or making jewelry. She taught me to crochet. She encouraged my wild storytelling and most importantly asked me the questions that a good writer should ask herself to make my stories better. #art #writing #creatives
With all this awful news going on i wanna ask this question once again to fellow artists and general creatives. What got YOU into art? what sparked that motivation to start writing? what made you wanna pick up a camera and start taking pics? Like share with us your reasons.

I don't understand why folks my age would be so conservative. Like...we lived under GW Bush, we saw several recessions, but we also saw the only balanced national budget of our time, under a democrat. You don't have to be *that* plugged in to realize what's up.

epic will pay for every game that gets claimed this way so yes, you are still giving money to rowling (and by extension an international campaign against trans people) by claiming this

there are other, better franchises - let this one go

I've always thought that the whole "natural immunity is the best way to protect people" thing was a bit like saying "getting pregnant is the best form of birth control."

Anyway, cool to see it's better for the immune system to see vaccine before virus from an effectiveness standpoint too.
A study on 1.7 million people in Hong Kong shows superior hybrid immunity to Covid in people who got vaccinated before infection vs. people who got infected first. "Our findings are a direct rebuttal to arguments for natural immunity," the authors write. doi.org/10.1016/j.va...

As the end-of-the-year stuff comes around, it's important to remember that social media does not depict a person's whole life/self, and it is harmful to compare yourself to someone else. They are not you, and their circumstances are not your circumstances. #notetoself #2025wrapped

You can even block people, as a treat
The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

This year, if you get #Whammed, make a donation to a charity, for example GOSH at www.gosh.org and they’ll give it to someone special.

Not sure of how to play? Rules below 👇

As a saxophonist, I can confirm that we are the easiest to put in a sleeper hold, as most of us are *lightly* suffocating from the neck strap while marching.
*bikes along next to band, cheese grater on back*

*gently puts saxophonist into sleeper hold*

*takes saxophone*
