The irony of Casey's post is migrants working Ag, construction, or factory jobs in or near rural towns like Aplington could move there and revive these dying communities, but I don't think that's who he has in mind when it comes to marrying the locals and attending the First Reformed Church.
If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"

This kid is 15, and so has a moral clarity and uprightness that no adult elected official would or could ever have. There aren't really and never have been two sides of this issue, but if it has to be argued as a binary thing I don't see how anything less than this could seem like the side to be on.
this is a letter to the editor from a high school track runner who came in second to a trans girl in a race. her state house rep in maine started talking about it. so she wrote this: www.pressherald.com/2025/05/14/r...

What I hear is "We're going to send money to the states in less regulated block grants, that states with huge holes in their education budget due to private school vouchers will fill that hole with this funding."
Sen. Mike Rounds provides empty reassurances to parents who are worried that funding for education for special needs kids will be gutted after Republicans do away with the Department of Education: "Nobody wants to take away funding for special ed."
