I am so heartbroken. I got to know Elisa two years ago when she came to me with hundreds of emails of anti-trans legislators scheming around restricting trans rights. I helped get her story told by the New York Times and Washington Post. She deserved so much better.

I'm sad to share that the trans vet that took her life outside the VA last week was apparently Elisa Rae Shupe.
She's someone many of us know - she was responsible for the mass email leak that let us know how the ADF, Heritage, etc planned to enact trans eradication we see today.

In 24 hours we've gotten executive orders attempting to ban gender affirming care, ban recognition of trans youth in schools, ban trans employees in the federal government. It's a full on societal purge of trans people.
They meant it when they said they wanted to eradicate us.

I think today we are remembering that a nazi salute is a grave danger to humanity, that planning to deport millions of people, oppress LGBTI people, dominate women, invade a sovereign state is a fascist project and that the entire reason why the EU exists is not never let this happen again.
