People really don't understand how popular a guy like Mamdani would actually be in red/purple states like Ohio. Everyone just wants someone they believe will fight for them. They don't need perfect policy that is 100% implementable. Just be normal and relatable about it.

It's been a large reason why so many of us haven't been very active on social media. We see the hate that is directed and opt out of creating connections and feeling like part of something out of the fear of what could happen. It's a very effective tool for isolation and divide.

The more popular an idea seems, the more likely people are to agree with it. Humans are not rational creatures weighing arguments in a vacuum and checking the science and truth on everything they hear. They hear something a lot, it must be true.

People want to be validated in their beliefs by knowing others agree. The media messaging those things as bad are why they have a negative opinion. The trans attacks are seen as positive because they're not being characterized as bad by the media at large. Dems capitulating made this worse.
New piece: Most Trump voters did not "vote to deport moms." They voted bc inflation was high under Biden, to deport criminals, or something else. Many do not support Trump's policies. Welcoming those voters back into the tent is key to future Dem victory.

The blood test was the compromise position between just letting us compete as we are and not letting us compete at all.
The NCAA prior to 2010 basically had "whatever your state id says" as the rule. They changed it to appease people afraid our competing was unfair

High school kids can compete with who they want. NCAA athletes need a doctors’ note. Olympians/pros have to show that their T is under 15 ng/dl with a blood test.
It worked. Zero problems. Perfect balance between fairness and inclusion.
