For The Ringer, I wrote about the best TV coaching trees, from series that did the best job of finding and nurturing writers and/or directors who would go on to make great shows of their own:
Which TV Show Has the Best Coaching Tree?
Vince Gilligan is eternal proof of the strength of the ‘X-Files’ writers room. But frankly, that room has a ton of competition across television history.

“Robonimbys turn the entire planning process into a really boring episode of Robot Wars, with duelling AIs crushing the humans who have to make decisions under a huge pile of paperwork. That’s going to make an already slow process slower. They also turn actual democratic engagement into a farce.”

I’ve written a piece on the curious lack of media and political interest in the issues faced by our national @britishlibrary.bsky.social. This is strange given we live in a world where ideas, knowledge and research are a long-term source of innovation and insight

Playdate on Amazon is B.A.D.

Even for an Amazon movie.

Kevin James and Alan Ritchson might not exactly be known for their acting chops but even they deserved better than this 😬

Went to see Edgar Wright's The Running Man this morning...I found it quite fun if uneven and enjoyed angry Glenn Powell & paranoid Micheal Cera but the ending felt soooooooo rushed. Like a student film that run out of money. Was jarring to say the least!
