American billionaire Stephen Schwarzman, founder of Blackstone & owner of the 2,500-acre Conholt Park shooting estate in Wiltshire, has been tankering in huge quantities of water from drought-struck Hampshire to fill up his lake (legally, but outrageously):

1. I've said exactly this for quite some time. Expanding on Adrian's @sillyputty78.bsky.social point on X / Twitter here, Covid-19 has three distinct characteristics as a disease that enables it to be denied at a societal level.

Recently, I posted a link to an article discussing how well masks work at limiting airborne disease transmission. Gillian read the link and asked the following question.

This gets to a critical issue I thought I’d discuss.

I’m worried sick about patient safety as highly trained clinicians are replaced by 2yr-trained associates. Does this make me a “social media rabble”? Or is the “be kind” movement being cynically weaponised? Those monitoring my posts, put this on the agenda for the meeting you’ve asked me to attend.

A year of telling stories, and being careful - 2024 in review🧵

I hope you had the best 2024 you could - another year in which the lines between reality and fantasy were blurred.

I don't post photos of my children. This is a mock up using a teenage photo of me.

That meeting happened in Nov. The CEO didn’t show - sent representatives instead. No apology was issued.

Just a reminder:

All vaccines used in public health have been rigorously tested. Their benefits greatly outweigh their risks. While a few people have a medical reason for not taking vaccines, most people (and the population overall) will benefit. Doctors who claim otherwise are irresponsible.

This is still true. It will remain true however high such individuals are promoted.
Just because a bunch of professors at Stanford say COVID’s no big deal doesn’t make it true. You know this. You know someone who’s died from covid. You know someone with long covid. You’ve probably had covid several times yourself. They are spreading misinformation because it fits their ideology.

When it comes to the airborne transmission of viruses, how fast the air is physically removed from the room is important.

In my latest explainer video, I discuss how you can measure how well your home is ventilated, and what you can do improve it.

1/ 🚨 Conspiracy theories about the 2024 election miss the bigger picture.

The truth? It wasn’t one night, one hack, or one fraud. It was a system rigged in plain sight – right in front of us. The playbook was out in the open for years. But hardly anyone paid attention.

Here’s how they did it... 🧵
