The excess basil I grew in the summer and which I chopped up roughly and put in little containers in the freezer has retained all the flavour. Great addition to this evening's pasta. Appetite's returned a bit, so the worst of this claggy cough is perhaps over.

It wasn't a "made up Black Hole", Zack.
Rachel Reeves never said that with respect to this year's Budget. It was a Press invention.

The rich pay a lot more proportionally than anyone else in this Budget.
Tax rises paid for the £20billion headroom everyone agreed we need.

Tells us about you though.
Rachel Reeves says on Laura Kuenssberg that she's asking working people to pay a little bit more.

This was all under the cover of a made up "black hole" whilst refusing to tax the super rich.

This Labour Government showing again exactly who they are and who they serve.

Glad I made the effort to drive over to see my best friend despite feeling a bit shitty. I wore a mask and warned her about my horrid cough. We went through our latest body failures, marvelled that we've got off fairly lightly all things considered, made plan to catch up again in about 10 days.

Two final points.

In 2019 Boris Johnson celebrated his General Election Victory with Alexander Lebedev

In 2022, Canada sanctioned Alexander Lebedev for being on of Putin’s inner circle

Just ponder that.
Since we released this @johnsweeneyroar.bsky.social documentary two years ago, more information has come to light that Boris Johnson went to this meeting to discuss a 'backchannel' to Putin with Alexander Lebedev, who was working for the Kremlin in Crimea at the time

Just tried out my little nebuliser to help get the gunk out, and it's worked! The instructions are very funny, a translation from Chinese, but detailed and clear nonetheless. Wish I'd thought to get it out sooner but hey ho.

A once-in-a-lifetime vote which was to determine the course of history in a country cannot just be re-run a few years later because of a vocal minority who didn't like the results of the democratic vote first time around and wants to run the vote again. If outside interference is proved that's

I suddenly remembered I had a stock of Fishermen's Friends, so have been happily eating those this evening and they seem to have helped clear the chest and ease the cough. Not for the faint-hearted. Much stronger than Victory V's.

The FT today:

Rachel Reeves has succeeded in leading skittish UK bond markets to a safe place. Love or hate the politics of the Budget she delivered this week, it is churlish not to give her credit for that.

Better with Labour. 👍. By far.

So lovely to get a gossipy video call from my friend in France and catch up with what's happening to all her family and to all the places we used to go to partying. Always some sad news, but that's kind of expected given that our partying group are all now past retirement and older!

Jane Goodall (the little doll) has been stuffed with some soft wadding and shoes glued on. Facial features and hair to do, plus edge on a big shawl then make a little toy chimp to sit in her arms, but am waiting for delivery of furry socks to cut up for that. Eyestrain is bad. Ozzy will be next.
