it's always really fascinating to see the conversation around trans women in a women's space oriented around the perpetual idea that the trans woman is a potential threat and never that she might be acutely vulnerable to violence from her surrounding peers in such a space as a marginalized woman

this also partially stems from the broad cultural idea that a trans woman can never be a victim to violence or abuse i.e. whatever happens to her is deserved or justified. people of all genders can be acutely aware of the ways they can perpetuate violence ... except when it comes to this situation

the first time I came across Dan Bongino's name I thought he was a parody of that Type of Guy; the second time, I inadvertently re-invented it from first principles while making up silly names for my cat and riffing on "the Bongus", and it took me out for a full five minutes
So just clearing the air: Dan Bongino has had me blocked on Twitter since I was rude to him in 2018, and Dan, if you’re reading this now, I just want to say that if someone told me you misspelled your name multiple times on your drivers license I would believe them
