Bikes, public transit, movies. 🏳️‍🌈
Just last night, Google AI overview listed Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick as two of the greatest living film directors
Inevitable and frankly obvious outcome. And on top of that, the AI Overviews themselves are so laughably awful that I'm continually astonished that Google hasn't pulled them yet.

(Also: People say that they hate ads... well... this is the other inevitable and obvious outcome of blocking them)

“Goodies.” C’mon!
You guys realize that taxing people to pay for services isn't socialism, right? This is just how governments work.

In 1582, a papal bull introduced the Gregorian calendar, still used today by most of the world. Because it’s 11 days ahead of the Julian calendar, countries introducing it simply skipped a third of October, and if you scroll back far enough in the iPhone calendar app you can see it change

Now that I actually work inside a city government, it’s really drives home how capacity is everything.
We thus make several recommendations.

Reauthorized federal transportation programs should guarantee effective grant use by:
—Improving staffing, building up the public sector workforce
—Prioritizing access for people, rather than cars
—Expand funding, but only if the above two issues are met first

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed 4 years ago. In new research @urbaninstitute.bsky.social we study its effects.

US transport spending increased by 30%, but:
—Funding for non-highway projects flatlined
—Construction cost increases resulted in no actual increase in infrastructure

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is up for reauthorization in 2026. New analysis shows that the act increased spending on transportation infrastructure, but…

Well, my Metro A Line train may have been 10 mins delayed, and then it took 30 mins to get downtown instead of 18, but at least I then get to wait 11 minutes for my transfer! @metrolosangeles.bsky.social

Ingraham looks so deeply bored. Like despite her part in the propaganda machine she just can’t bring herself to play the part of excited sycophant.

I am so furious right now.

AGs across the country fought to get SNAP benefits.

Federal workers suffered with weeks of no pay.

Millions of people showed up to protest Trump.

Democrats showed up in record numbers at the polls to say 'we've got your back!'

And you caved for literally nothing.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Without LGBT New Yorkers, Cuomo might’ve won. Mamdani’s genuine and relentless support of trans rights was not only morally correct, but an electoral necessity.
Centrist dems want buses running over LGBT people. @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social wants free and clear bus lanes instead. The difference won him the election.
