Radical optimism means *working* to create a better world. Mere belief in its possibility is insufficient and often counterproductive.

Liberals are (understandably) flocking here to flee ignorant conservatives, but it would be nice if they left their own ignorant conservatism behind.

Read this thread. This is what @katmabu.bsky.social was protesting, and why she repeatedly says getting beaten up by ICE outside is nothing compared to the torture and crimes being committed inside Broadview. These thugs must be held to account.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

An understated reason figures like Newsom are so dangerous is because what really advances the most violently reactionary parts of the American state aren't just the openly far-right rulers, it's their successors entrenching what they did. Newsom types aren't an end to fascism but its completion. 🧵

Dude, I post like this because I'm *not* a fucking senator. You have power. Use it!
ICE is stockpiling arms, including chemical weapons, guided missile warheads and explosive components. The spending dwarfs anything we've ever seen in the agency - a 700% increase.

The President is building an army to attack his own country.

"Comfort" is the feeling. "Comfortability" should be about the ability to provide comfort or the ability to be comforted.

If you *actually* do it right, they won't be in power. Hence, their "right way" is not in your interests.

Under the Third Reich, most Germans generally lived in the law-bound normative state, while Jews and other disfavored people were victims of the arbitrary and violent prerogative state.

The dual state is characterized by the facade of normalcy obscuring the fact of an authoritarian state.
The “dual state” theory was invented to describe Nazis. The Supreme Court could take us there.
Authoritarianism—but make it look like the rule of law.
