A single story like this would have been enough to endanger a presidency in the past, especially for a D. But there are probably 10 things more corrupt that the Trump govt did just yesterday to obfuscate this abuse of power and resources so it hardly rates. And during a govt shutdown! Deplorable.

I sincerely think that universities should suspend their productivity standards for scientists and ask them instead to hold town halls in schools, public libraries, museums, shopping malls, and anywhere else and communicate what is being lost with the collapse of the research ecosystem.

It is demoralizing as a Manhattanite to realize what a pox New York Dems have been upon the national party in recent years, the great AOC and her movement obviously excepted.
