When I am cirtiquing someone’s manuscript, I have this distinct feeling that I can tell who is reading actively within their genre and who is not reading much at all.

In light of the astronomical increases for my health insurance next year, I thought it would be a good time to encourage people to subscribe. (A few hundred should cover it. Sigh.)

Space opera is the background radiation of science fiction. It's always there, crackling away.

I went through over a decade of learning and mistakes and mastery of one skill (video editing) until I became an expert in my niche.

Now im starting from scratch for writing. It’s different, faster in some ways, more grueling in others. I imagine it’s like learning your third language~

"I'm not any good at this. I'm not a real writer. I'm—" MAYBE YOU'RE WRITING ISN'T WHERE YOU WANT IT. WE CAN ALL IMPROVE. BUT PERFECTION IS A LIE. SO KEEP WORKING ON IT AND GIVE YOURSELF SOME DAMN GRACE, BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT SHIT. YOU'RE LEARNING. YOU'RE TRYING. GOT IT, BOZO?

I have all these short ramblings that are not stories, barely concepts, often sub 500 words, but that had to be told.
Now they’re festering, buried in folders all over my hard drive, these broken things.

Look at that 👀 I’ve hit another milestone in followers and the holidays are approaching, a perfect time to hock my cute & cozy birb novella! It’s like 100 pages long, not a huge lift.📚

It’s literally as cheap as I can get it, i make like 1¢. Available in ebook, audio, & paperback!

Travel with 48 hours of no sleep is a unique experience. liminal and dreamlike. My body keeps micro sleeping anytime I’m not totally locked in. I have made it to my gate half by instinct and the other half I’ve forgotten.

I suppose I should marvel at the miracle of technology that allows me to sit in an airport in Japan, remote logged in to my computer in Denver, where I am editing a video for a client in Virginia… but right now I’m annoyed at how slow the connection is.

I discovered this writer’s work through instagram and these short stories are hilarious. Had to share~

A television executive selling exclusive rights to the epstein files, a 60 year old man becoming the lead for a kpop band. This is @tacobellquarterly.org style content

So what do we think about the new Bsky 🦋 logo for iOS? Faux 3D and bevels? Personally I liked the minimalist two color from before

Always a good reminder; sometimes when I hit a wall in writing, I need to feed that void with life and experience.
Get out into the world and do something that’s not writing for a while, then I can return with new ideas and perspectives to fuel my work~

2300 words this AM. Somehow some way I’m right on target to my desired word count, barreling toward the finish like I’m trying to keep from tripping and falling down face first.

Listening to the audiobook of The First Five Pages by Lukeman and had to stop and play it back to capture this quote in my notes app. it is such a great way to judge when you are ready to start that new draft.

In reviewing people’s manuscripts and query letters, I keep running across stories where one character holds agency over the plot, driving the action forward, and the other undergoes the primary emotional arc. I wonder how common that is?
