I appreciated that moment because it's one of the few times the SNW writers made use of Pike's backstory as revealed in Disco S2.
A scene from #StrangeNewWorlds Season 3 showed something new in #StarTrek, specifically a Starfleet character praying. Gene Roddenberry was no fan of religion, but I argue below this doesn't break that "sacred" rule because of what it actually means.

In the Season 3 premiere episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Captain Christopher Pike does something surprising Gene Roddenberry would dislike.

I took a look at the Season 4 premiere of #MayorOfKingstown, and the #JeremyRenner and #TaylorSheridan show is making a major departure from its status quo. It's bad for Mike, but great for viewers.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Finally Gives Jeremy Renner What He's Been Missing for 4 Years
Jeremy Renner's Mayor of Kingstown character could always count on two important things, and Season 4 takes them away from him.

I also got to talk to #MayorOfKingstown co-creator Hugh Dillon, and #Supergirl star Laura Benati about their characters' journeys in Season 4. Even though I'd already seen the episodes, their answers made me want to watch them again.

Keeping it focused on #MayorOfKingstown, I got the chance to talk to a pair of LEGENDS. Check out my interview with #JeremyRenner and #EdieFalco, and see which question almost stumped them. (Though that wasn't my intention!) #TheSopranos #Avengers

Did I review Season 4 of #MayorofKingstown just to see my beloved #Pittsburgh in the background? No, that was just a bonus. There are no spoilers here, so check this out to find out why this could be the best season of the series yet. #JeremyRenner

One thing fans love about #StarTrek is the way it tackles the sociopolitical issues of its day through allegory. In this essay, I look at an infamous episode of #StarTrekTOS to see if it's a classic, prescient episode or has time turned it into a misfire?
56 Years Later, Star Trek's Most Controversial Episode Hits Even Harder
A classic issue-focused episode of Star Trek: The Original Series was incredibly controversial, and even now, it's unclear if it's aged well.

It's fair to argue that a big moment in #StrangeNewWorlds Season 3 clashes with established #StarTrek continuity. But, it's not as cut-and-dried as fans think, especially considering how #StarTrekTOS handled canon/continuity while in production.
Strange New Worlds' Best Season 3 Moment Is Also a Big Star Trek Continuity Error
The Strange New Worlds Season 3 finale featured a great moment between Kirk and Spock, but it's also a pretty big Star Trek continuity error.

Everything from modern superheroes to sprawling fantasy universes owes a debt to #SherlockHolmes. However, a forgotten film about the consulting detective produced by #StevenSpielberg might be the most important sci-fi movie ever for a surprising reason.

An original 1980s take on Sherlock Holmes from two eventual cinema legends is one of the most important sci-fi films of all time for a subtle reason.

While many #StarTrek fans are hyper-focused on how #Spock in #StrangeNewWorlds contrasts with the character in #StarTrekTOS. In this article, I examine how the two versions can align, but it will take some awful tragedy to make it work.

Fellow #writers and #authors, just wanted to share a warning about a scam I just encountered. Someone claiming to be George Aranda from the Big Ideas Book Club (email:bigideasbookclubgeorgearanda-at-gmail-dot-com) is trying to charge authors $325 to "feature" their work. Beware.

Once you know what your local Nexstar or Sinclair channel is, watch until you hit an ad break. Jot down who is advertising. Then contact the companies that are advertising, tell them you're boycotting, and feel free to use the attached script, and make changes if you like (in the alt text as well).

Been talking to people quite a bit about how it's easy to understand "cancel Disney+!" but harder to understand the initial and bigger problem is with Nexstar and Sinclair, so lemme make it easier.

Find your local Nexstar channel

Find your local Sinclair channel
While ppl are boycotting Disney a reminder that Sinclair and Nexstar are also the problem. They started this. Canceling Disney subscriptions hurts Disney but does nothing to Sinclair/Nexstar. We also need to boycott companies that advertise on Nexstar and Sinclair stations.

Your reminder that legislation to curb the rights of trans people to use restrooms or do anything else means everyone's behaviour, clothing etc will be opened up to intrusive and unwanted scrutiny and potential challenge in our daily lives. This is not a 'them' issue. Trans rights are human rights.

Periodic reminder everyone: The best thing you can do for a writer or artist who posts their stuff on these hellsites is to read/watch/look/appreciate it. A close second that is free and takes no time at all is reposting/signal boosting their work. A close third is to say a nice thing about it.
