I may be misremembering this, but I read an interview or maybe a social media post where Mount said he thought all religions were valid ways to connect to the idea of deity. The Lord's Prayer is so indelibly Christian, some may have felt it singled out one faith over another, too?

I think I inferred it, because like most creative types I am extremely needy and in constant need of positive reinforcement. I figured joining social media would be great for that and definitely not often its total opposite.

"New Eden" is one of my favorite Discovery episodes, and possibly my favorite "Prime Directive-related sneaky away mission" episodes, too. Though since Lower Decks final season, I laugh out loud when Pike says, "We're from...the north."

Though, I do remember reading somewhere he said the X-Files reboot was his next big thing after Sinners. Obviously,

I'm hoping you know this isn't one of those "Star Trek Just Went Full Christian" articles. Either way, thanks for quoting/sharing it. 🖖

That's possible, but I briefly DM'd with the writer, and the religious overtones throughout the episode were about his experiences, too. And the whole thing about Pike's dad being religious was dropped in his second Disco episode, so it was seeded early.

Once you know what your local Nexstar or Sinclair channel is, watch until you hit an ad break. Jot down who is advertising. Then contact the companies that are advertising, tell them you're boycotting, and feel free to use the attached script, and make changes if you like (in the alt text as well).
