Hey @repangiecraig.bsky.social , stop voting with Republicans on nonsense like this. Keep your spine. Mamdani is energizing the party. Don’t be a party pooper.
The House of Representatives voted on a resolution condemning socialism ahead of President Trump's meeting with Zohran Mamdani.

Mike Johnson on Trump calling for Democrats to be executed: "Attorneys have to parse the language and determine all that."

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! What's YOUR #LastFourWatched?

4 down, 8 to go on Friday the 13th movies, Predator Badlands rocks, and Cellar Dweller is a gentle homage to EC Comics with some super fun practical effects.

the desire for Endless Franchise is sublimated hunger for God. if the franchise ends the hunger pricks, the dread tide ebbs. the standalone short story exists, in the franchise acolyte's imagination, like the grim reaper a the end of a dark dirt road

Why is @pattonoswalt.bsky.social wasting time with this pseudo intellectual smarmy dipshit? There’s nothing to be gained. His ideas aren’t new or interesting.

We all laughed when the company launched its Unicorn Farts aerosol spray.
They claimed it could cure cancer, AIDS, the common cold, restless leg syndrome.
The initial demos were very exciting.
Even though the shipped version smelled like acetone and couldn't cure a ham.

How it started: "The Epstein files will reveal all the Hollywierdos and perverts on the left!"

How it's going: "TECHNICALLY it's "ephebephilia" and it's not that bad."

What this must do to Megyn Kelly's soul, if she has one.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

The obsession with lore and continuity in franchises is dumb. We don't have to explain why Bond has been middle-aged since the 1960s, why explain this? Just pick a new lead actor and write a spy story.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Especially when Dems have the added leverage of having already caved!
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Mamdani is going to implement Shyamalan Law. It will seem fine until the shocking twist.
Mamdani is going to implement Sha-Na-Na Law. Based in the sensibilities of the 50s but incongruously showing up at Woodstock.

When facing a strong incumbent who is likely to win, both parties run weak candidates who "deserve their shot." Career pols that excite no one, like Bob Dole, John Kerry and Mitt Romney. Dems didn't think they could beat W so they didn't try.
This NYT Obit of VP Cheney mentions something that seems impossible in retrospect: That he and GWB were re-elected *after* it was proved there were no WMDs in Iraq.
