Hard disagree. International travel.
The only important thing you can buy with money once basic needs are met is time (which includes staff!)

Can’t remember which one but one of Biden’s later pressers was just these dumbfks yelling questions him that no honest person could hear or answer and I never understand why trump never gets that scrum treatment.
Can someone show the White House Press Corpse a montage of the reporters who covered previous administrations, the ones who weren't complete cowards?
“You’re a stupid person” — Trump lashes out at a reporter who presses him on the fact that the suspected DC shooter was actually thoroughly vetted before he was let in the US from Afghanistan

Is this a thing? It’s the heroin that’s the issue? Wtf
I am a little tired of being yelled at for this but apparently not tired about: heroin addiction is not RFK’s problem. He’s a sociopath. Most addicts aren’t. Honestly, walk into an NA meeting, grab the first person with a few years to be head of HHS and they’d probably do a better job than Bobby.
This is what happens when you put a privileged, 14 year heroin addict in charge of health. Duh

We do know who killed JFK. The Warren Commission was an incredibly thorough and good-faith effort to prove and document what had happened, which they did. The conspiracy theories arose in spite of best efforts to avoid them, but there really isn't anything they could have reasonably done better.
My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess

Big fan of this guy but we absolutely know who killed Kennedy and damnit why

Dude that headline. It’s like @nytpitchbot.bsky.social is a double agent
A new Coast Guard policy recasts swastikas and nooses as merely “politically divisive," deletes protections for transgender men and women, and suggests hazing has military utility

I suggest you read @swin24.bsky.social They’re simply not going to release anything of import.
Wanna bet? (I’d love him not to be able to, but we’re going to hear a lot of “active investigation” in the next weeks and months

Yeah but that’s not true. Manchin hate him or not was the closest any Dem could ever get to winning statewide in WVA what are we doing here
I’m haunted by a prominent NYC left organizer telling me that Joe Manchin should be primaried and that advocacy groups - with enough budget - could easily elect a progressive in his place.

As I wrote on another site that is reserved for old people, at the time Epstein was writing some of these emails, he was tap dancing and spinning plates on his nose and middle finger to evade criminal and civil liability.
One caution I'd offer as everyone goes through these emails is that *Jeffrey Epstein* (of all people) saying something in an email does not automatically make it true!

Aren’t mortgages recorded in a public recorders office in Florida? Can’t anyone “look at the mortgage” on title to mar a lago?

I don’t understand what the alternative is. At some point, all the Dem polling love would unquestionably switch to “a pod on both your houses.” The GOP would be perfectly happy with a shutdown dragging through Xmas. Don’t see how they avoid ongoing blame e HC costs, continuing inflation, etc.
The problem isn't that they caved for a promised vote; the problem is that the vote will be a meaningless gesture impressing no one but Senate Democrats.

It will fail. ACA beneficiaries will suffer considerably as a result and there will be no consequences of any kind for Republicans.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Gonna get owned but I fundamentally do not believe this is democratic negative. (I’m sure I’ll regret this bc I thought Obama was the answer). But if Americans could not travel for Tday I’m not sure blame would have mattered by party. This avoids “pox on both houses” and gop still to blame.
The agreement to hold a vote on ACA subsidies is not a concession. It's worth literally nothing. It should be ignored when evaluating the merits of the deal
Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.
November 10, 2025 at 2:05 AM
Do you have no fear tho? If Dems took the senate and abolished it I’d be nervous but supportive. If Trump does it ….
one thing i find crazy-making is the idea that getting rid of the filibuster would make congress a purely majoritarian institution. bicameralism itself is counter-majoritarian! equal state representation is counter-majoritarian! the fact that senate elections are staggered is counter-majoritarian!

He, like Kirk, knows what he’s doing. He supported the seditious conspiracy because it fostered his ends. He trolls on line for the same reason. It is a grift. A means to an end. That is all.
On the whole I haven’t been much surprised or disappointed by who went Rhinoceros during the Trump era, but I had sort of thought Mike Lee was at least a little smarter, more principled, and/or more decent than he’s proven himself to be.
This guy slowly transformed from con law egghead to catturd3 before our eyes. The whole subculture is a conveyor belt to lobotomyville.
