"We are firing so many Americans, you wouldn't believe it," says the American president.
Trump: "The only reason our unemployment tucked up and went up to 4.5 percent [it's actually 4.6 percent] is because we are reducing the government workforce by numbers that have never been seen before."

The networks were afraid not to run Trump because they assumed he would use his office to punish them if they didn’t. The irony is that this is what Biden was warning about, a warning they chose not to share with America.

Wait, Biden wasn't empathetic?

And Trump shouting fake numbers as he tanks the economy and Biden talking about real numbers as he made it the envy of the world are, uh, not comparable like this.
the president shouting economic statistics at voters instead of empathizing with them on the cost of living is the type of thing that turned people off of joe biden in 2024

During the last Trump Administration, Tom Cotton called for using the military to execute Americans in the street for opposing Trump.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), to reporters, after viewing video footage of the U.S. strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean on Sept. 2:

"Righteous strikes." "Entirely lawful."

Why is House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries lying on Donald Trump's behalf?

The US-Mexico border was not insecure last year and secure this year. That is not true.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

the thing that strikes me about this — again, besides it being false — is the venom and disrespect for the people who come here to work and build better lives. they aren’t “servants.”
JD Vance: "Democrats' idea was the way you get more prosperity is that you import more and more low wage servants."

We are 16 years into the ACA replacement being right around the corner. If the replacement existed, it could drive a car.
NEW: As health insurance bills rise, Republicans are still seeking an Obamacare alternative

There is no legislative product yet.

No consensus in the party about a plan.

But top GOP lawmakers and policy figures on Capitol Hill have begun discussing concepts.

Nothing more Democratic than stealing defeat from the jaws of victory.

I’m just so tired of being so disappointed, and at this point, it’s on me.

They weren’t negotiating on ACA subsides when the government was open either, for what it’s worth.
THUNE: “I spoke with the president last night. He's happy to sit down with the Democrats next week to talk about Obamacare, but you can't do that when the government is shut down. That would be subject, again, to them voting to reopen the government.”

Not only is this not how appropriations work, but it is such a great example of why Dems can't vote for an approps bill - Trump just does whatever he wants to do, and doesn't care about the laws. It's about trust!!
Well that's not how appropriations work at all
