cis/het/white/old guy...

he/him

I know most followers are here for posts about one type of thing (not all the same mind you), but I'm complex damnit.
Woke up with tinnitus screaming at me and a migraine... No idea why, did one cause the other? Do they both stem from the same root cause? Perhaps with some quiet and my head not pounding I could figure out out, but as it stands it is beyond my current capabilities.

I'm no Pope, but I did grow up like 10 miles (and like 20-30 years) from where the Pope lived as a kid...

There are 3 things he wants people from the US to bring:
Deep dish pizza
Chicago dog
Italian beef
“I wish American visitors would stop giving me jerseys,” I said. “How about a little change of pace,” I said.

Which is weird cause Trump has always had a socialist/communist streak, though it gets lost in policy because he is also an authoritarian bigot and doesn't understand a lick of economics or budgeting. So we just get stupid bigot most of the time that occasionally has the government buy 10% of Intel.
[years later, explaining U.S. history to my kids]

"After all that, what was the thing that finally got them to invoke the 25th?"

"After he started to get along with the socialist."

Yeah but what is "fraud"? Just one of those things that people used to be worried about but aren't anyone (like corruption, groceries, or the ozone layer).

It's like how Grandpa used to use the N word but we just had to pretend like he didn't because he was "from a different time".
GOP Sen. Ron Johnson is crowing about Robert Kennedy Jr.’s CDC pushing debunked vaccine misinformation.

“Time to apologize to Dr. Andrew Wakefield and all the others who were maligned and vilified for simply asking the right questions,” he says.

Wakefield’s paper was *fraudulent.*

Have helped multiple people fix the "one last thing" they couldn't get working right on their bike...

Then I notice one other thing ... And the other thing, and before you know it "their bike" has been "ship of Theseus'd" with the spare parts bin in the garage...
PSA: Friendly neighbor bike mechanics love to talk about bikes a lot. We are one dimensional with no other hobbies or interests.

It’s best to stay safe and for example discuss things like the finer points of brake adjustment.
yes they're wonderful! we talk about bikes a lot ☺️☺️

If I put some things heavy on the gas pedal and bailed out of my car, am I committing a crime?

What if instead of sometime heavy it was a switch to just open the throttle all the way?

What if instead of a single switch it was a micro processor that opened and closed the throttle specifically?
So in MN do the waymos have drivers licenses OR one of the linked exceptions?

If not, then "self driving" is "driving with out a licence" send the citation to the company and impound the car.

The "there are no laws prohibiting it" is clearly "we don't want to enforce the laws prohibiting it."

It's weird to hear people* say that remote work started with covid, when I was supporting VPN connections (on home 802.11b Wi-Fi) 20+ years ago for 100% remote employees.

It's especially weird when it's the bearded suspender IT guy that you 100% know has had remote access since at least '95.

Companies not turning off the money spigot to politicians trying to lower their profits be deporting their customers highlights that this isn't the case.

It's just hoping that people who thought Thanos had a point will fall behind them. The same people think oil is an unlimited resource...
this defies parody. also helps explain why Sec Bessent bizarrely blamed immigrants when confronted with a question about high beef prices

Hearing things over cube walls reminds me regularly that my collar is now white, despite my blue collar upbringing...

People discussing hiring out annual snow blower maintenance, and how amazing it is that the blower still works great after 14 years........

They also reveal how bad and poorly spelled his "advice" was.

Pretty sure 80-90% of the people reading this would offer better advice* (unless this blows up, then I don't know you people, but I'll still go at least 50%).

My dad got written up for calling a coworker a homosapien...

Union Rep got involved...

Hilarity ensued...

Simpler times.
when I was young, i used to wonder how people like this would fare in life, as they didn't seem suited for gainful employment. it turns out, the internet allowed them to accumulate a massive audience of similar idiots, enriching them and turning them into a presidential advisor

Got my tools, multimeter, etc...

Turned the humidifier to on and headed back into the crawlspace to the humidifier ready to test every wire and check for clogs in every pipe/valve...

Popped of the cover and... it was working fine.

Humidity is up to 38%...

🤷‍♂️
Whole house humidifier isn't working.

Valve isn't opening so no water...

Checked for power at the thermostat, and the good news is there was 24v between the humidifier wire and the common wire when it should have been on, the bad news is my probes slipped and I blew the fuse in the furnace.

Why does coal need help public relations wise?
Did it come out that coal was part of a pedophile ring in the 90's?
Did coal try to over throw the government?
Did coal say "quiet piggy" to a female reporter? Say you can grab women by the pussy? Let sex traffickers into the country?
Trump: "Coal needs a little help public relations wise, so we refer to it as 'clean beautiful coal'"

So detached from reality that they assume that we aren't paying for healthcare when we are sick (as well as when we are not), and that we get to decide how close a fire hydrant is to our house...

Maybe we could also just "be responsible" and forcibly vaccinate every one we come into contact with?
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

Still waiting to hear what's happening to the tunnel under the rail road tracks at fridley station when the north star line shuts down...

It should have just been an always open pedestrian tunnel from the get go, but with no station what happens to the tunnel?
“That’s not just about the design, the welcomingness, the openness, but also the activation overall,” he said, because pedestrian spaces promote browsing in shops, stopping for coffee or spontaneous conversations."

Changing lanes before making a right turn?

People on the road with me lately just turn right from whatever lane they happen to be in... At least until the snow flies then they'll deny that there were ever things called "lanes".
I don't know who needs to hear this, but when driving in MN, when you make a right turn from a street with a bike lane, you FIRST MERGE INTO THE BIKE LANE. Don't turn across the lane! www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cit...

Can someone from the media ask what is to stop "the people" from spending that healthcare money on lobster dinners or fentanyl, seems like he is remaking the "wasteful SNAP program" he opposes so strongly for healthcare. Why not just pay healthcare bills directly to the healthcare providers?
Does "no insurance" even qualify as the concepts of a plan
November 18, 2025 at 1:40 PM
I bet you could twist this into single payer with out trunk knowing.

It'd be convoluted, but a "healthcare rebate" where you can get all your healthcare spending back when you file your taxes (can't be single payer at point of service cause communism) predatory loans until then you file your taxes.

If trump's truth social was hacked and started posting things that go directly against everything trunk previously said, would anyone ever know it was hacked?

I suspect trump would read the print out of his "truth" and just accept that is his position now.
If Trump truly didn't care, he wouldn’t sound this desperate.

Cameras and auto door moved over from their old coop

Ramp still needs some work, but that's a problem for another day (they are all still young and absolutely about to jump up there)

Chickens moved in and are a little confused but seem to be enjoying the extra space.
