NEW: President Trump spent much of the year as a steamroller

But as 2025 ends, he seems much smaller now

Republicans took losses and are starting to defy him. He seems out of touch and focused on legacy. And Epstein won’t go away

A shrinking president: www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
Trump Is Suddenly Looking a Lot Smaller
The president is no longer dominating his party or the country in the way he once did.

Not the ball drop we wanted for the New Year. Republicans could have so easily voted to extend the credits. One year. Two years. Three years. They rejected all.

McGovern: "To say Democrats are the ones who want to enrich insurance companies is absurd. Republicans support big banks, big tech, billionaires, tax breaks for huge greedy corporations. ICE is afraid of the worst of the worst. They think they look big by dragging pregnant women through the snow. ICE are nothing but bullies and cowards.
AOC: “President Trump ran on a promise to the American people that ICE would go after the worst of the worst — What we have seen is that ICE is not overwhelmingly going after criminals — In fact, over 70% of people currently detained in detention facilities do not have a criminal record”

"How do I make my boss happy?" is the question that dominates the mind of every little authoritarian, and they instinctively assume it's on everyone else's mind as well.
Hassett: "The way to think about what AI & its agents can do is they can act as if they're the best coach you've ever had. And so while you're trying to figure out, how do I make my boss happy? It's like you've got a coach right there with you every step of the way."

Is this freedom?

Trump called a female reporter Piggy and said Kashoggi got what he deserved. The only thing he hates more than the press is a woman in the press.

When we say we have no Congress, that's a literal interpretation. The duty of a "Representative" is to represent the people. Our Congress works for Trump
GOP Rep. Salazar won't criticize Trump calling a woman reporter "piggy" -- "President Trump is a very different type of politician. But I always say I look at his policies and not his personality. Nobody is perfect."

This has been Trump's superpower since 2016, and the secret to his success:
♦️He doesn't hide his crimes: He boasts of them.
♦️His case: Everybody does these things-- I'm the only one being honest about it.

Effective, but false:
♦️Many are corrupt, many are abusers. But he's in a league all his own.
"The message is not that Trump is innocent, it's that *everyone is guilty.* Everyone assaults women, cheats on their taxes, uses public office for private gain. Propriety and following the rules? That stuff is for suckers. In a world of grift and graft, the most corrupt man should be king."
