President Trump once again catapulted crime in D.C. into the national conversation.

“It has become one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the World,” he said in a Truth Social post.

Local and federal data, though, paint a contrasting picture: wapo.st/3UnYDNd

These are the type of people that Superman would fight against. I think they subconsciously know this. Hence, why they're mad. Superman doesn't share their values of hate and exclusion.
This is the quote they're pretending to be mad about: “I mean, ‘Superman’ is the story of America. An immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.”

Awful time for our decision to both buy and sell a house...

🏠 Home sales are hovering at historic lows, as economic uncertainty and high mortgage rates hold back buying.
The housing market is in the absolute dumps
On top of ICE targeting home building sites and tariffs raising the price of materials, demand is weak.

This may be my favorite Trump clip of all time. Because he HAS to support Israel in all this and is BEGGING for a Nobel Peace Prize so he can be like Obama, he's constantly being fucked over by Netanyahu and his blood lust and it's ROYALLY pissing him off.
Trump: "We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the fuck they're doing. Do you understand that?"

I'm going to go with "no"...
Q: It's Juneteenth. Does the president plan to commemorate the holiday at all or make any comment?

LEAVITT: I'm not tracking his signature on a proclamation today. I want to thank all of you for showing up to work. We are certainly here. We are working 24/7 right now.

Imagine being so racist that you’d rather go to work when it’s beautiful outside than have a holiday celebrating an ethnicity besides your own
"13% of Republicans are in favor of making Juneteenth a national holiday, and only 28% of people who identify as conservative want the history and significance of Juneteenth taught in schools."

Bleak shit.
Why the Right Hates Juneteenth

Wrote this two years ago - but worth reiterating, as America is ruled by a regime seeking to restore complete white male dominance in all spheres of life: Today’s MAGA GOP stands in the political, ideological, and spiritual tradition of the (neo-) Confederacy.

Actually, Ron, the funny part is that he says it's up to someone else. Not his call. He tells us how he's a great dealmaker and X wouldn't happen if it wasn't for me and I'm the only one who can do Y or whatever. But....now it's time to punt? Ok.
Art of the deal is raising the tariff to 145% then cutting it almost in half despite the fact that China has made no concessions and has completely ignored you. Xi just sits back at laughs at our orange clown.

As a Patriots fan, Bill preached about not bringing distractions to the team constantly and its weird to see that Bill, of all people, has not been able to heed his own warnings.

The media built this narrative that he was a can’t miss prospect. Were they pulling their punches because of Deion in terms of analysis? Or were NFL folks not being as honest? I don’t know. But I just can’t see the widespread conspiracy to “humble” him.

Going to see how well Bluesky does with the NFL Draft tonight instead of using Twitter. Here’s hoping 🤞🏻

I'm not even particularly religious, but I'm pretty sure Jesus said "They will know you by your fruits, not "They will know by how much Christian television you watch"
EARHARDT: Tell us about President Trump's faith

WHITE HOUSE FAITH OFFICE DIRECTOR JENNIFER KORN: Fast forward to 2000 when he called Pastor Paula White and was watching Christian television. So remember, before he even thought about being president, he was watching Christian television.

Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements

The cynic in me sees this as career politician Cory Booker seeing the writing on the wall and using this is a springboard for a likely Presidential run.

But fuck, at least it's *something.* Something that should've been happening since day one. I don't have to like him to like what I'm seeing.
Cory Booker's speech now enters its 17th hour. He's getting backup from Democratic colleagues, letting them join his remarks for the occasional colloquy. Senate floor business is indefinitely in limbo until Booker yields.

Kinda shocked just how long Signal has been able to stay trending on Twitter. I thought Elon would’ve nerfed it by now to bury it a little.

Williams gets a $26M per year.

This is the most active I’ve ever seen sports accounts on Bluesky. It’s wonderful. Really hope this makes the NFL think twice about not letting teams use this platform.
