one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.

ICE has been raiding my neighborhood and surrounding ones for the last couple of weeks now. They commandeered my local church (against the pastor's will) for a staging site and raided supermarkets, parks, Goodwills, bus stops, you name it.

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."

In my limited experience being on email threads with very rich people, this seems common. I think they’re lazy and it never crosses their mind that anyone would think they’re huge dummies?

Funniest part of this gibberish, to me, is how he says "we've won a lot of good ones," in regard to America's wars, and then says we could use "Victory Day" to describe the end of more wars than just WWI and WWII, but obviously fails to identify any.

Genuinely feels that Democrats didn’t know how to act in a situation where they were clearly winning. Punting and giving up is much more familiar, so they panicked and did that instead.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

I agree with this, but I think we have to put ourselves in the shoes of these kids. Their friends are done in minutes and then hanging out and having fun. Would be very tough to be the only person saying “I can’t go, I have to spend hours on the thing you got done in 30 seconds with 0 consequences.”

One of the things I’m most thankful for is that I didn’t push my kid to get into tech. The entry level job market is non-existent and the entire industry is spending trillions of dollars to replace their experienced workers with chatbots.
