Extreme wealth concentration is not merely unfair—it’s destabilizing civilization. Modern civilization faces cascading crises—climate, chemicals, ecosystem collapse, health breakdown—driven not by humanity as a whole, but by the decisions of a structurally empowered minority

My take is that it's a desperate attempt at spin. Badenoch is a busted flush. The dilemma however, is that there is no viable candidate waiting in the wings. Jenrick is a non-starter as it's easier for Tories to join Reform. A week from now and they will all have returned to obscurity.
I sometimes worry I exaggerate the collective madness of our media but the people who cheered Brexit, Boris Johnson & Liz Truss's mini-budget are now applauding Kemi Badenoch's speech. 'Parallell universe' doesn't come close. I suppose her not falling over is a win of sorts for them at the moment.

People voted for change not a protracted culture war. Labour is too ensconced with the City and the world of high finance. They lack courage....look at the debacle of Thames Water and the reluctance to nationalise. Time to think big, start setting the direction. Proactive not reactive.
This from @lewisgoodall.com is the best analysis yet of the PM’s strangely

The consensus view was that Keir Starmer's speech was his best yet. I think it was born of a profound weakness, the seeds of which were sown long ago. My latest. https://goodallandgoodluck.substack....

⚠️Children beaten in schools
⚠️Women punished for fleeing domestic abuse
⚠️Journalists fined for protecting sources
⚠️Activists sued by McDonald

All defended by the ECHR when Britain failed them.
