I don't think it's great for faith in the sport's governance that two teams in the 12-year history of the Playoff have made the field when they really shouldn't have, and both of those teams were Alabama

Jeremy Lin, who spent most of the last 6 years playing in China and Taiwan, announced his retirement today. Across 9 NBA seasons, he averaged 11.6 ppg & 4.3 assists. A solid career that included a ring with Toronto, but he'll always be remembered for that magical moment in time known as Linsanity.

Trying to make sure I understand this. Let's say Trump administration starts enforcing a baldly unconstitutional policy like lopping off the hand of all left-handed people. To be protected, lefties would have to get injunctions circuit by circuit, district by district, until SCOTUS weighs in?

Dems in Congress think everything's normal. It's not. One word describes them all:
Failure.
They've lost everything, and they're the first to point out out they have no power, that 215 Reps and 47 Senators is as good as zero.
So why keep any of them? Their experience in failure and excuses?

Police department budgets are one of those areas in which, if you tell people facts, they immediately reject them as untrue. Compared to 2022, NYPD spent $151 million more on overtime in the subway this year but barely altered the number of major crimes. Robberies went down a bit, assaults went up.
I’m not a 100 percent defund the police guy. but absolutely beyond question that diverting half ish of bloated police budgets would pay massive social dividends
