The Clash’s Sandinista!: A Quantitative Analysis
Sandinista! isn’t the best Clash album, but it’s certainly the most interesting. Let’s figure it out.
joeydaniewicz.com
Last month, I got 35 people to rank the 36 songs on The Clash's fourth Sandinista! and today I am publishing the results along with a THOROUGH write-up of every single track.
This was a monumental undertaking and I can't believe I did it. PLEASE read it. joeydaniewicz.com/2025/03/24/s...

Yes; Hampton does relatively better than Davis in this scenario because Hampton inherits 77 percent of Davis votes and 61 percent of Fateh votes, whereas Davis inherits only 56 percent of Hampton votes as well as 65 percent of Fateh votes.

We now know that, as between Frey and DeWayne Davis, the breakdown would have been 49% to 40% to 11%, and between Frey and Jazz Hampton, the breakdown would have been 47% to 41% to 12%.

As others have mentioned, we now have the Cast Vote Record for the Minneapolis mayoral election. I'm going to be doing a good bit of digging into this, but I'll start with the big question: How would DeWayne Davis or Jazz Hampton have done in a final round against Jacob Frey?

And here's Frey vs. Hampton, which looks a lot like Frey vs. Davis, with some subtle differences.

OK; I figured out how to make some maps. Have patience with me; I'm self-taught. (If anyone knows how to get rid of the irrelevant sections of CD5, let me know.) Anyway, here's Frey vs. Fateh, also known as Kenwood vs. Cedar-Riverside.

now that the full canvass is out, can someone make a map based on frey-fateh margin on the final round in each precinct or am i going to have to figure out how to do that

a couple thoughts on jazz hampton
1. it's not his fault his first choice voters mostly broke for frey. his supporters who wanted davis or fateh likely just voted for them ahead of jazz hampton
2. he'll always have my respect for the answer he gave about primarying ilhan

Hey! In this thread, I'm going to briefly summarize the four three-winner elections Minneapolis has held so far. I think people don't understand these very well, so just know you win when you hit 25%. 1/9

not looking forward to 2029 when our only chance to maintain a progressive park board will be to try to replicate a mass walkout at the city convention by moderate delegates before parks business is raised

Shitload of cops came tearsassing through LynLake. One of them said it was a stolen vehicle and the driver was running people over and pointing guns. They're all clustered at 29th and Aldrich. Sounds like the driver's in custody? 😬

have seen some people fuming that less than 100% of davis and hampton voters ranked fateh. but that's just an unreasonable expectation and is not why we lost

jacob frey has to be so mad that he couldn’t beat Aisha. him and his people named her as their top target after the last election. they raised so much money and Aisha embarrassed the shit out of them.
soooo much money spent per vote compared to Aisha. soooo much wasted mail.

most devastating result of the night (for the campaign) is almost certainly lydia millard failing to clear 40%. that campaign raised a ton of money and was everywhere. they were so visible and fought aisha to a near-tie at the convention. in the end, they didn't come within 20%

I love this stat. You don’t have to squint very hard to say what happened in 2025 was almost all Mpls wards resolved to their natural state. 8 returned to left column, 2/10 stayed DSA-psyched, 7‘s rich assholes regrouped in streetfight with renters, 5 was never as progressive as Peak Jeremiah.
