My brother is a veteran who lives in San Diego while working blue collar jobs. Being able to shop at the commissary/PX is an absolute life-saver for him and a ton of other veterans. If they closed those down there would be a major backlash. bsky.app/profile/jame...
canceling the commissary — and i would assume, exchange — program is a one way ticket to getting a bonus army situation. for those unaware, the commissaries and exchanges are subsidized grocery and department stores for service members, veterans and their families.
