Masai Ujiri's "legacy will be indelibly etched in our city in perpetuity" says the guy who says he decided to fire him without any real tangible reason other than 'it was time.'
Welcome to the new MLSE

The Poisoning of the American Mind: How Fox News Conditioned A Nation for Tyranny

🚨In this video, we expose how Fox News conditioned millions to accept authoritarianism. Through fear and repetition, it eroded trust in democracy and normalized lawlessness.

This could be a cautionary tale for Canadians as we face Prov and Fed elections soon with potential leaders embracing the same ideologies, and also feeding us to billionaires for their own advancement. This could be us if we’re not careful. We have a front row seat. Watch. Read this article. Vote.
Having watched with growing alarm the developments of the last 24 and 36 hours in Washington, I thought I’d take a stab at how the US media would cover this story if it was happening in a foreign country. Here’s that story that should be written this weekend: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/musk-s-jun...

Well, if more kids have to die of cancer, that’s just the price we have to pay to be sure that half-trillionaire and government leech Elon Musk doesn’t have to pay remotely his fair share of taxes.
I had mistakenly thought the Dem-controlled Senate was able to pass all the pediatric cancer provisions that the House GOP cut after Musk's tantrum. But only a small funding extension for an existing program ultimately passed. The more significant other provisions (first four items below) are dead.

Wonderful deep piece on what it has meant to RJ to be home at this time in his life, and what the team is doing to encourage and foster the best in him. As someone who lost a brother at around the same age, I could feel the emotion in the writing. Kudos!!
When RJ Barrett was traded from the Knicks to the Raptors last December, he wondered ‘why now?’ — on love, loss and ‘Sauga’s finest raising his game under the weight of both, my Big Read for @Sportsnet — www.sportsnet.ca/nba/longform...

Boomers are nostalgic for how much better things used to be.

But forget the part where wealthy people were taxed over 90% from the 1940s-60s.

Want nice things? Less wealth inequality helps. A Lot.

(Also like so many things, Reagan screwed us all.)

billionaires are one of the most destructive forces on the planet and a smart democratic party would build an agenda around legislating them out of existence
I doubt there’s a single employee at the LAT who isn’t dropping resumes right now. This is a recipe for mass resignations

Eliminating food deserts creates safer, healthier communities, in turn saving healthcare dollars and giving residents more control of their lives and arguably a better quality of life. Easily fixed by enforcing existing legislation in the US. But …billionaires don’t benefit so 🤷‍♀️.
Food deserts "didn’t materialize around the country for no reason," Stacy Mitchell writes. "Something happened. That something was a specific federal policy change in the 1980s."

Here’s the most charitable reading I can offer:

The tech barons behaved as though they were atop a social hierarchy, and expected mass adoration for their generosity+forgiveness for mistakes.

Instead, Elizabeth Warren, Lina Khan et al treated them like the heads of *massive corporations.*

There aren't many losses more painful than a buzzer-beating overtime heartbreaker after leading for most of the game.

But somehow the 2-12, worst-in-the-league Raptors are a fantastic watch.

Something's going right beyond the record.
Win or lose, these Toronto Raptors are vibrant and fun
The Raptors keep losing, but somehow they remain fun and promising.
