BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
NEW: At Pope Leo’s Urging, Bishops Issue Historic Rebuke of Trump’s Raids
Nearly all U.S. Catholic bishops united in Baltimore to denounce the Trump administration’s “inhumane” deportation campaign — a near-unanimous, unprecedented moral stand against a sitting president.

this is not just a side effect of Trump’s policy of immunity for criminals who support him. It’s the entire point. And it’s alarming that it falls to states, not the federal government, to enforce basic things like “don’t threaten to kill members of congress”.

One of my heros. I was lucky to get to see her speak.
A note from our CEO:

"I'm reaching out with profound sadness – and with gratitude for a life well lived. As you may have seen, Dr. Jane Goodall has passed away at the age of 91.

We've lost our founder, the planet's fiercest advocate, and the woman who would never let us settle for good enough."

Just wondering if anyone would have sagely scolded my ancestors in the camps if they said "Fuck Germany."

Would you have called them bigots or said "Yeah the camps are bad but Germany has a right to exist?"

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us.

We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again.

That's the revolution.

A president who is crashing the economy, destroying public health and terrorizing immigrants keeps slipping in the polls. He could:
A) stop his bad behavior to stem the slide
or
B) try to crush free speech to cover up his failures.
Right now, he’s choosing B.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel

For months, $9.7 million worth of birth control meant for women in low-income countries has sat stranded in a Belgian warehouse — apparently destined for destruction — as a result of the Trump administration's freeze on foreign aid.
The U.S. said it would burn $9.7 million of birth control. Its fate is still unclear
Questions about their fate swirled after the government's July deadline for destruction came and went. Then came a false report they'd been incinerated. Aid groups say it's not too late to save them.
