FLDOE alleges ACSB Chair Rockwell illegally had this man removed from the meeting. Vice Chair Tina Certain lead this meeting. The man spoke for his full 2 minute public comment but was disruptive before that was disruptive as he returned to his seat, when the Vice Chair called for his removal.

That Florida Republicans have decided to die on the hill of....let me check again...Hulk Hogan is beyond embarrassing.
Florida education secretary says SBAC violated state law at meeting

When your mind puts things that happened in the "ancient history" category, remember that Emmett Till was born only two years before Mick Jagger.

Yep.
America: where someone suffering from homelessness or schizophrenia gets thrown in prison, but someone who openly molests children is elected president

It's almost like all these people acquiescing to our president have something in common. I wonder whatever could it be???

Are they a number on a certain list????

I posted elsewhere as well about the reaffirmation of UF's beliefs being a bit of stretch when they gave an award to a Nazi with no shame.
I do not understand this statement by Florida’s Dean at all.

Why exactly was “attempting to use originalist methodology to reach a detestable and extreme position” something that met the grading standard?

Of course it’s constitutionally protected. So would be turning in a copy of Mein Kampf.

The Ku Klux Klan Acts (passed in 1870 & 1871 to protect 14th amend rights) were particularly focused on masked gunmen who violated the civil rights of Black people. We should remember this history when masked law enforcement ofcrs are deployed in our communities.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

Exactly. When they guy with 4 homes, multiple cars is telling workers how greedy they are expect a wage they can live on, there is something wrong. Even worse when their employees make so little they need government assistance. End billionaire and corporate monopoly welfare.
There needs to be a spreading hands emoji for posts like this. This is so well said.

I guess this is why it's easy for some people to say they uphold the Constitution when they are not actually upholding it. They have no idea what it says or what the words mean.

FACT CHECK: Habeas corpus is the centuries-old legal procedure that protects AGAINST unlawful imprisonment, and is a crucial part of our fundamental right to due process.

Establishment Dems owned by lobbyists are also bad. Removing the financial burden from Medicaid places it on the insured, which drives up health care costs and insurance costs and decrease coverage.

Medicaid for All would be a much better solution.

Pssst - kidnapping and deporting migrants without a hearing makes you a filthy criminal illegal.

Pass it on.

This. You too will lose rights if they are suspended for the group of folks they currently want the ability to jail without cause and ship off to another country where they can't fight their imprisonment.
If they suspend Habeas Corpus, it won't just be for "migrants" or "illegals" or "criminals." If they suspend Habeas Corpus it will be for you and me and whomever this regime decides is unfit, undesirable, and a threat or a problem. This is how it works. This is how it's always worked.

Sitting here remembering when GWB announced the invention of the Department of Homeland Security after 9/11, and how every anti-war activist I knew at the time had the immediate reaction that with a name like that, it wasn’t going to end well.

And here we are.

73% of mothers with kids under 18 are in the workforce. More than flowers or brunch, working moms need:

-Paid family leave
-Equal pay
-Universal childcare

(But get your mom flowers, too)

What ICE is doing is not normal. None of the current deportation procedures are normal.
“Abolish ICE” is the moderate position. Radical is “prosecute every ICE employee under RICO.”

A friend said something to me the other day that made me see everything differently.

"Everything the light touches is about capitalism."

How better to get more money and more people back in church than by choosing a Chicago kid who likes the Cubs.
