Theres a lot of data that shows that some csa survivors can find catharsis in fictional drawings or ageplay with a consenting partner. This is the first to be banned, because seeing a harmless version of a thing is how one understands it.
republicans really do want to ban every sort of sexual expression except for raping children. Any sort of queerness, any sort of harmless fetish play, hell, half of them seem to think having consensual missionary sex with your adult wife is sus.

Perfect in agony, in beauty, in horror, and every word of every sentence is specifically designed to provoke the senses into absolute depravity but when it is done it rends me open like a cleaver. The reunion scene at the end literally made me weep in my car like a lunatic
ULYSSES rewired my entire brain. It showed me that fiction could be more than just a plot, it could be fleeting thoughts and impulses, memories and regrets, sexual preoccupations, ephemera from other pieces of art. It broke me open.

The truth is unless the situation is super brutal and necessary (i.e. Gaiman or JKR), literature doesnt need everybody at knives out at each other. As someone finishing his first book, I got enough worries about personal life stuff rather than if my words are nitpicked by my peers.
